Bleuette has been responsible for the latest, largest surge in doll collecting. There are many explanations for the addiction to this little charming doll and her family. Her history is supurbly written in many books bearing her name. Bleuette is 27 to 29 cm. in height, depending on which body type and head is used. We are offering exacting reproductions of the following models:
JumeauPrimere
SFBJ 301
SFBJ 60
SFBJ 251
Bambino
Bamboula
We have hand sculpted a Becky Sen which will be added to our web page in the near future. Bleuette's favorite toy is Becky, a three and 1/4 inch doll, which is pictured below. Agnes Sura has kindly given permission for us to send a copy of the clothing pattern with each doll that we send. Becky undressed is $40.00. Each doll has a hand formed nose, hat and shoes, therefore each will be slightly different. We have a few handmade costumes for Becky available. They are $35.00.
Bleuette Primiere was of course the first doll produced in the Bleuette series. She was a Jumeau offered as a premium for selling supscriptions to LsSemaine deSuzette, a girls magazine in France. Our Jumeau Primiere is offered on a Seeley composition body, a Global paper mache body with jointed wrists , or an Asian turned wood limb body with jointed wrists. You may choose any of the human hair wigs which we have available, and any paperweight glass eye color. Our reproduction is $225.00 undressed.
SFBJ 301 is a beautifully molded face with painted lower lashes, and mohair upper lashes. She has four set in teeth. You may have your choice of any of the three bodies, human hair wigs and glass eye color. $225.00.
SFBJ 60 is one of our favorite faces. The mold for this doll was made from my mother's antique doll. We have the antique to paint from, and, as uisual, the reproduction is as beautiful as the antique. Again, your choice of body, human hair wig and eye color. $225.00.
SFBJ 251| is from our original mold. We sell not only the doll, but also we manufacture the mold. This is an impish, younger face. She was originally done as a baby called Benjamine, but was quickly changed to a Bleuette because of legalities regarding the dame Benjamine. Your choice of bodies, human hair wigs and eye colors for $225.00. If you prefer her on a bent leg baby body, she is $215.00 undressed.
Bambino is Bleuette's little baby brother. As young boys wore dresses in that era, you can dress this doll in a christening outfit, dress, rompers, etc. Your choice of eye color, but they mostly were blue eyed. The composition baby body is a five piece bent limb body. The doll was found mostly with two porcelain set in teeth, but occasional appeared with a molded tongue in place of teeth. Bambino is $200.00 undressed.
Bamboula is the black baby that was introduced to the Bleuette family in the 1920'S. The coloring on this doll is very dark. His face takes Seven to eight Skin wash firings to achieve the desired darkness. He composition body has had four coats of paint to become as dark as the original Bamboula. His eyes are brown, and he has a molded tongue. Bamboula undressed is $220.00.
